Exemplary Young Professional Award --> Ashley Davis, CMA, CSCA, FPA

As our chapter was celebrating our 100th anniversary on the eve of the biggest event of the year (IMA23 in Minneapolis), our very own Ashley Davis was presented with the Exemplary Young Professional Award.  This honor recognizes young professionals who display outstanding and creative approaches to problem solving within the Accounting and Finance profession.  There were three members worldwide this year honored as such with the other recipients being within the Philippines and the Beirut chapters.  So, this is a very select crowd to be a part of.

Ashley Davis serves as our Vice President of Communications and does an exceptional job in this role.  Ashley joined the IMA in 2019.  Almost nine months to the day, she earned her Certified Management Accountant designation.  Soon thereafter, she joined our board as an Alternate Council Delegate.  When the opportunity presented itself the following year to step into an Officer role, Ashley took the Communications position to an entirely new level.  Her newsletters are the flagship of our digital brand, which really became a focal point these past couple years to keep members engaged and informed.

In 2021, Ashley earned her Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis certification.  Earning the CMA alone is quite the feat.  Approximately 35% of all IMA members worldwide have accomplished this.  To earn both the CMA and CSCA is a far rarer feat.  These take a lot of dedication and applied knowledge to do so.  This also sets a great example for not only fellow IMA members, but Accounting & Finance professionals as a whole.

Throughout her young career, Ashley has been promoted several times.  From starting as an Accounting Intern to her past couple years as a Finance Manager, her dedication to professional development is prevalent.  Ashley has volunteered outside the IMA including foundations within her employer and mentoring programs for high school students.

This past year, Ashley was one of four Young Professionals to participate in the IMA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Experience pilot program.  Over six months of work culminated in a presentation at a summer Global Board meeting in New Jersey.  This final project sought to take flight implementing their DE&I Solutions Report.  Ashley described this experience as “incredibly enlightening and rewarding”.

Ashley is ambitious and has a proven track record in such a short period of time.  She has a giving spirit in service to others.  Thank you and congratulations on earning this prestigious award!
