IMA Champion Award --> Shari Nepper, CMA, MBA

As our chapter was celebrating our 100th anniversary on the eve of the IMA's biggest event of the year (IMA23 in Minneapolis), our very own Shari Nepper was presented with the IMA Champion Award.  This honor recognizes a member who has demonstrated exceptional volunteerism and leadership skills that are beyond the call of duty in service to the IMA and serves as an example for others to follow.  This is a prestigious award attained by only a select few having consistently demonstrated unselfish commitment and exceptional performance in support of our organization.

For well over a decade, Shari has and continues to exhibit the exceptional leadership qualities that of the best of those in the IMA.  Shari has served as the President at both the Chapter and Council levels along with a consistent pattern of volunteerism in other roles throughout.    She is an exceptional leader who is caring and compassionate.

Shari has done so much for the St. Paul Chapter, the Northern Lights Council and the Minneapolis Chapter.  She continues to serve on our board as Treasurer in a vital role requiring a high level of integrity and trust.  Further to this, she has been significantly involved with the annual Accounting & Auditing Student Conference.  This event is put on for college students to further their understanding of the Accounting & Finance profession.  Attendees from surrounding schools all the way down to Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa (4.5 hours away) participate in this full day event that our chapter and fellow sponsors host free of charge.

Shari has been an IMA member for over 20 years and earned her CMA in 2006 back when it was a four-part exam.  Shari has been a significant contributor throughout her various leadership roles at both the chapter and council levels.  She really helped us bridge the merger of our two chapters (St. Paul & Minneapolis) and was a supportive & calming factor in what was a very successful affiliate in itself.

Congratulations and thank you, Shari!
