The U.S. payment system is the midst of vital changes triggered by the rapid advancement of technology, the internet and general mass connectivity.  These advancements create tremendous opportunity for enhanced convenience and efficiency, but they also introduce new vulnerabilities and challenges.  In this presentation, Guy will discuss the impacts of these technology advancements on the U.S. payment system and the need to modernize the payment system in response to them.

 

 About our Speaker: 

 

Guy manages the Payments, Standards, and Outreach Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis with responsibilities for researching and advocating for B2B payment efficiency improvements and standards, and supporting payment security and emerging payments standards. Guy also supports the Federal Reserve Systems Strategies for Improving the U.S. Payment System (SIPS).

Previously Guy headed product development for ChexSystems’ account opening screening services, was Group Product Manager for electronic banking at Deluxe Corporation, and managed a software company that supported EMV migration globally. As president of Collis Americas, he managed EMV and mobile payments consulting for North and South America, and managed EMV consulting at MasterCard before joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Guy brings strong domestic and global experience working with legacy and emerging payment and fraud mitigation technology.
