The IMA has pioneered a brand new assessment of management accounting competencies across organizations of different sizes and industries. The Management Accounting Competency Index (or MACI) measures organizational performance against 10 competencies. In doing so, striking patterns emerged.
A key finding is that the larger the organization, the more the more emphasis is placed on what we bring to the table. Valuing financial competencies correlates with confidence about the future. Any prior perceptions of us being a siloed function now stands at the forefront of helping to facilitate company-wide success.
