Congratulations Minneapolis Chapter Members!
Our chapter earned 10th place in the large chapter division of the global IMA competition this past 2017-2018 fiscal year. We also received an award for our community service project at Junior Achievement Biztown. If there was such a thing as a third-place Chair award, then we would have won that too! All of our chapter members take their continuing education and CMA certification very seriously and we are very proud of that. Thanks for making our chapter one of the best in the world!
We have a great lineup of speakers for you this coming season: leadership, corporate tax reform, ethics, and blockchain just to name a few. If you haven’t attended one of our CPE dinner events before, please consider coming. I promise you will feel welcome and you will wish you would have attended sooner!
In addition to our CPE dinner events, we are planning a manufacturing tour and our fourth annual community service day at JA Biztown. We know that the Twin Cities is a large area, and we are purposefully planning events in various locations throughout the metro this year. If you would be interested in participating on the planning committee, please contact Randy Drager.
Please welcome Sally Ortman, John Rogoz, and Michael Grey to the Chapter board. Michael has bravely accepted the role of Director of Social Media, a new role created specifically to share, tweet and connect with all of you on social media. It’s also a newly added option to the global chapter competition. Watch for more information coming soon on how to connect with us.
We have a new website! IMA Global has provided all chapters and councils with a new website platform to share information with you. The intent is to provide consistent branding and messaging throughout the organization. They also changed our email platform. You can expect to see our chapter events and newsletters getting sent to you in a different format because of this change.
Our chapter board has been very busy the past few months planning our upcoming events. I appreciate our volunteer board members very much. They are wonderful, fantastic people and I am very fortunate to have the privilege of working with each of them. Thanks for all you do.
May we all have a fantastic IMA year!
