Dear Fellow IMA Members:
We have had an extremely successful and exciting 2017 to date. Our chapter has won several awards for the past 2016-2017 competition year and was recognized at the Global Conference in Denver in June. The first and most honorable achievement is the Kasunic Award. As you may recall, we have won the Chair Award for the past several years which is where we placed first out of all chapters globally for the best consistent performance over the last five years. The Kasunic Award is given to the chapter who places second. Well done! The Qatar Chapter was honored with the Chair Award.
In addition, our chapter placed 4th in the large chapter division. We earned this award for our active chapter participation in continuing education, membership growth, and CMA certification. We also earned a silver medal for our chapter website.
We have an exciting lineup of continuing education chapter events. Please check out our event calendar for details.
I want to thank you all for your camaraderie and passion for our local accounting & finance community. My main mission as President has been to ensure that all our members are aware of the many IMA Chapter and Global resources and tools available. The IMA resources available to all our members can be used to make a difference both professionally and personally. Enjoy what you do and who you do it with. Getting involved and sharing experiences with colleagues is a priceless benefit and there are numerous opportunities within our Minneapolis Chapter to get involved. Please reach out to any Board member or me personally to find out how you can play a part in our organization. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity that awaits you with your IMA membership.
I am delighted to welcome our newest board members, Julianne Johnson, as our Director of Communications, and Randy Drager, our Director of Events. Welcome!
In closing, my challenge to each of you is to take the initiative to grow personally and professionally with IMA in your tool kit. Together we can continue to make the Minneapolis the leading chapter in our global organization.
Lianne Loeks, CMA
IMA Minneapolis President
